[Meta] We Hit 100 ... Thank You!!!
Let me know what kind of content you'd like to see moving forward.
Just wanted to give a quick shout out and thank you! We've just crossed the 100-free-subscription mark, and I couldn't be more excited to continue this journey with you all.
Although I started Backstab with coverage of the OneD&D playtest, I’m shifting my focus to creating exceptional 5e content that can be enjoyed by players and DMs alike. With the upcoming 6th Edition designed to be fully compatible, the material I write will remain relevant for both current and future game tables.
Please comment below and let me know what type of content most interests you, including (but not limited to):
Folklore & Fantasy: As covered in my videos and articles about kobolds and banshees, this series explores the relationship between real-world legends and the entries found in the Monster Manual—including a new monster with 5e stats.
Adventure Writing: I’ve been writing published adventures for RPGs for over twenty years. We can go through my process a step and a time time to see a module from idea to completion.
Plug & Play: This would be game content you can easily swipe and toss into your own campaign, whether it’s a monster, encounter, magic item, NPC, location, or something else entirely. My article about using dogs and puppies a campaign is one example.
World Building: I’ve spent so much time writing and designing for the worlds created by others that it’s a hole in my resume. This series would follow me creating a fantasy world from scratch based only on a few loose ideas.
Fun & Weird: I’ve created a lot of fun stuff with D&D over the years, such as the SnarfQuest RPG Worldbook for Larry Elmore or running the Dungeons & Dragons Cartoon adventures at game conventions like GaryCon. This series would share these ideas about how to run games in completely different styles and genres without having to learn all-new rules.
Let me know what you’d like to see moving forward! Please share your preferences and ideas in the comments below. And remember, sharing is caring! Help Backstab grow by sharing with friends and encouraging them to subscribe for free. If you'd like to directly support my creative and game design work, please consider a paid subscription or leave a one-time tip.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to create engaging game content for you. Your support means the world to me. Onward to 1,000 subscribers … game on!
